Meet the Team

Janice Cockburn

Au.D. Reg. CASLPO
Doctor of Audiology

Doctor of Audiology with over 30 years experience. She has worked as an Audiologist in pediatric settings (Hospital for Sick Children) and adult community settings. Her knowledge of hearing aid technology is extensive having worked as the Managing Director for the largest multinational hearing instrument manufacturer for 18 years and was exposed to the research and development of new instruments. Currently, she is the owner of Hearing Sciences- an independently run, privately owned hearing clinic with 8 locations, Alliston, Orangeville, Bolton, Bradford, Woodbridge, Oakville (Bronte), Brantford and Collingwood. Her philosophy of “people come first” has made her company known for their caring attitude, listening skills and follow up service. Hearing Sciences has a strong reputation in the communities they serve and is now celebrating their 10th Anniversary.



Susan Mahon

B.A. (Hon)
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Susan Mahon is a Hearing Instrument Specialist with over 7 years practicing in the industry with all manufacturers and brands of hearing aids. She is passionate about hearing education and staying updated on new technology by attending educational courses and seminars. Susan’s principle is taking the time to listen and understand each patient’s concerns and to respond with compassion. She is a graduate of the University of Grant MacEwan’s Hearing Aid Practitioner program and earned her honors Bachelor degree from the University of Waterloo. Outside of work, Susan enjoys biking and painting. On summer weekends you will find her with her husband and two children on their boat.









Robert Douglas Branton

(R.D.) Branton
Hearing Intsrument Specialist

R.D. is a Hearing Instrument Specialist and graduate of Conestoga College. He has a background in sound and electrical transmission and an interest in helping others improve their quality of life.

Working several years as a manufacturing and packaging supervisor and raising two daughters both over the age of twenty has made R.D. extremely patient when communicating information to people. He is knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all questions and concerns from his patients. His calm confident demeanor allows patients to be comfortable and successful adjusting to hearing improvement.

R.D. will frequently share his knowledge with local senior’s centers, retirement communities and long term care homes. His genuine caring, humor and easy manner make him popular with his dedicated clients. He is a pleasure to have on the Hearing Sciences team.
